Dental Assistant-OPS

Positions are available in Titusville, Viera and Melbourne
Assists the dentist in the care of patients. Prepares equipment. Exposes and develops x-rays. Maintains medical records. Assists with scheduling of patients. Orders supplies.
Prepares trays with instruments and supplies for dentist and anticipates his needs. Sterilizes and maintains dental instruments and equipment. Maintains sterile supplies.
Polishes teeth, applies fluoride, and applies sealants. Applies cavity varnish and bases. Placing/removing matric. Mixes cements. Removes sutures. Places temporary fillings.
Exposes and develops x-rays. Maintains x-ray developer.
Maintains records of dental services.
Assists with the scheduling of patients. Calls patients to remind them of appointments and notifies patients when clinic is cancelled.
Orders supplies and maintains an adequate inventory.
Performs related work as required.
Incumbent may be required to do work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency operations functions required of the incumbent include, but are not limited to, special needs shelter, Red Cross shelters, or any other emergency functions.
Communicates with courtesy, respect and understanding in dealing with clients, the public and staff.
